Yeast: US-05

General Comments:

[29/12] Silly mistake. I left the heat belt on last night. It was timed to come on for 6 hours at 3am. But because it was the first night of fermentation the temp was already 21c. So the following morning at 9am it was at 26c.

General Comments:

[04/12] I missed the best part of 3 liters of my final volume. This is probably not the worst thing in the world given the style.

Sitting nicely at 18c.

#6 Milestone Black Pearl Stout

3Jun2012

Overview:

Brew Date: 18/04/2012
Bottling Date: 10/05/2012
OG: 1.044
FG: 1.016
Abv: 3.67

Ingredients:

All pre-hoppped dark LME from kit (1 tin punctured in transit; hope result unaffected)

Yeast:

Gervin English Ale from kit (Muntons; dried)

General Comments:

No boil required, just mixing. Hydrated yeast before pitching. High OG? Week and a half after ‘brew’, check gravity: 1.018.

[30/04/2012] High, so racked to secondary for a while.
[03/05/2012] Bubbling away, fingers crossed this has the desired impact on the FG
[08/05/2012] 1.016
